Pics of the Day

The winter brings a variety of sparrows that we do not get to enjoy during the summer months. Today was a sparrow day, so enjoy.

The Dark-eyed Junco came up on the stone patio at the base of the porch steps for this pose. I was able to catch it from the comfort of the living room.

The Field Sparrow looks very common, but does not hang around these parts for the summer.

Likewise, the Harris's Sparrow leaves for the summer. In fact, at our place, we don't even see them every winter. But thanks for the stay this year.

The White-crowned Sparrow is one of our winter visitors that we can count on.

The Field Sparrow, about to drop onto the nearby feeder.
