Another blistering summer day on the porch, with lots of hummer and butterfly activity in the garden. Enjoy.
May be a Red Admiral, but no Google image quite matches this one. Any help out there?
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail was very active in the garden today.
And our first Admiral for the season.
Male and female Red-bellied woodpeckers in the yard today.
She spent some time hovering, offering some good poses.
I think this is the hummer equivalent of smacking their lips.
Had to share this disgusting moment. Guard dogs in the house, furry-tailed tree rat takes advantage of the situation. Ugh!!
I'm thinking this is how the hummer deals with 100 degrees, puff out the feathers and let the heat dissipate.
Finish up by blowing off some steam.
