Easter Sunday in Texas is quite often characterized by a late cool front, and this year is no different. But the hummers are still in the yard, so we offer some overcast photos today.
The Black-chinned was guarding the feeder from the nearby live oak. I think he was teasing the Ruby-throated hummer.
This shot gives just a hint of his royal purple chin.
The male Lesser Goldfinch, green-back variety.
The Ruby-throated gave me a few passes at the blue glass feeder.
He's got the red lights flashing!
