Before we head west I wanted to share this offering from Linda Jacobson. She has a Ruby-crowned Kinglet who is enjoying regular visits to her window onto the back yard. Linda's cats wear themselves out with excitement and stymied lunges at this one that is on the other side of the glass.

We took the commuter train with our Sister-in-law Ginger to Santa Fe. It snowed on us the entire time, and was wonderful. While strolling the square, we looked up and spotted this Sharp-shinned Hawk up above. I don't think he knows how expensive that space is!
Ginger's feeder on the ground outside her sliding glass door at the kitchen. A great place for some coffee and early morning fellowship and prayer. A House Finch hanging out with the Sparrows.
And in a while, a flock of White-winged Dove come in for their breakfast.
And when things cleared out a little, a Curved-billed Thrasher; he did not want to share with the Sparrows.
On the way out, we spied some new Bald Eagle activity at the nests about 5 miles east of Llano on 29. There was a new nest a little west of the first. We stopped on the way back to try to get some shots. There were two that we could see in the nest; one on the left has his/her head down.
This one flew off to the right and stayed still for a while. Sun was behind the subject, so not the best lighting conditions, but you take what you can get in this situation. A glorious bird.
